Evan Bayh has been touring Iowa and New Hampshire giving speeches and holding fundraisers.

There's a pretty good chance he's gonna run in 2008.

That said, I hope he does and Hillary dies or is rendered unable to run in some manner so I don't have to choose between that raging banshee cunt and the likes of Rick "Liberals Molest Children" Santorum and Bill "AIDS is Spread Through Tears" Frist.

Santorum acts likes he's told he has a chance, but there's no way in hell it'll be him.

Hasn't Bayh declared?

No, he hasn't, but he's hinted a whole bunch and already has a $6 million war chest.

It's great because his record is ironclad and unassailable, and he can't be labeled a "liberal" by the Republicans.

I know Bayh has a tight group of supporters. The Dems are going to need someone that's tough on crime (pro-death penalty, prison funding, etc.), that's the only way to win the south.

I still think Cheney's going to be the GOP choice, bad ticker notwithstanding..
